Keep in touch: Join us on Facebook | Welcome to the Hythe Town Concert Band website: This year (2009) sees the 129th anniversary of the Hythe Town Concert Band which makes it (probably) the longest running town band in the country. The
band is always ready to welcome new players. Anyone who plays a concert band
instrument (wind, brass or percussion) and wishes to join must be at least grade
5 ability although he or she doesn’t necessarily have to have taken the exam.
If you are not quite sure how you would fare why not come along and find out by
sitting in at a rehearsal. You won’t know unless you try. We are a friendly
band and anyone who comes along is always made very welcome. Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings starting at 19:15 until 21:30 with at short break at 20:15. The band’s rehearsal premises are situated off of Range Road, Hythe.
Alternatively,
if you are below grade 5 standard you don’t need to miss out.
Why not join our training band rehearsals of which are also held on
Tuesdays at the same venue from 18:10 until 19:00.
It is open to players of any age, young and not so young who are at least
grade 1 standard. Joining the training band will not only provide you
with the opportunity to enjoy the experience of ensemble playing with others of
a similar standard to yourself but it is a terrific way to improve your playing.
Of course, as an added incentive once you have improved to the required
standard you will be encouraged and invited to graduate into the senior band. So,
what are you waiting for? Contact Deryck Euden
on 01303 812381 if you require any
further information or just come along to a rehearsal. You will be very welcome.
